I don't really. I think its a seperate "race" if you will. They have darker skin, hair, and eyes.
Just wondering why they get grouped in with the white race. Just becase it's a part of Europe?

yes checkthe i can. I study cultures so I can usually tell. I would say about 95 percent of the time I could get it right. Of course there are always some people that get genes lined up in certain ways where you can't tell the difference.
I love the fact that there are races personally. It makes life more interesting.

I know a lot of people who do think like that. They think that you are either white or black--no inbetween. That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

There is a difference between "hispanic" and "latino" ppl in america view these are the same and they are not. Latino is an ethinicty or culture that ppl from italy, spain, france, and romania have just as much right 2 claim it as the oppressed ppl from "latin america" do. It's about coming from a country that speaks a romance language ( only truely educated ppl know this ) also hispanic traits? U do realize that spanish is a european ( white ) language! Without the portuguese, spainards and french the ppl from "latin america" couldnt refer themselves as latin anyways btw it was the french who named it that before them it was ibro-america or sud-americaAnd, ppl can claim the ethicity "latino" white, brown, black or asian. America misuses this term it's sad but true. Btw greeks can't claim latin cz they are not from a country that speaks a romance language even though i feel like greek is a beautiful language. Spanish and portuguese are not even the closest languages 2 latin spanish is the 4th( arabic influence ) and portuguese is the 5th. Romanian and Italian are the closest. Oh, and latin was originally spoken by the italics ( original latins )from lathium italy now known as the lazio region of italy. than the Romans adopted the latin and latinized where spain, portugal, france and romania is now. If any of u take what i have said offensive thats ur problem but, everything i have stated is based on fact and history. @Asker interesting question and i was pleased 2 answer it with an educated response :)

They all do? You mean if you saw one you would know if they weren't a Scot-Irish person with brown hair?
That's baloney that you can tell. The fact is blondes show up more than only 5% of the time as Italians -- so how could you tell 95%?
At my old job there was a woman who full blooded Italian and was signifcantly fairer than one of our other colleagues, who was an all-american type from the South (which is very Scot-Irish) and he actually said he was mostly Scottish. That why I got the idea.
Also why draw the line there? Could you id a russian with darker features like Dostevsky from a blonde like Anna Konikova from a darker German like Adolf Hitler or a very dark WASP like Ron Wood and Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones? And label them as eastern european, German, WASP? The fact is there are many gray areas with nationality and race of europeans.
But would confuse an Asian with any of the above? Not to mention it isn't just looks, but behavior that distinguishes race.

You need to take a trip to Europe and see what they look like. Not all Southern Europeans have dark skin, eyes, and hair. There are many with blonde hair blue eyes, green eyes, hell even red hair. Yes, they are all considered white. There is no distinct look as to what "white" looks like. The white race is very diverse looking. Just like how there's light skinned black people and dark skinned black people.

This might be considered weird logic. However I do think there is a distinction. From my experiences with white people in America, I ask them what is their heritage and most say white. Other will go on to say Im italian, or Im french etc...The ones who acknowledge their ancestry I refer to them as that Italian, portuguese etc. But for the ones who were american bred with no cultural ties to their heritage. I just call them white. So I consider the Italians, Greek and Spanish to be white. but WITH DISTINCTION. as long as they aknowledge it themselves. Makes sense? As weird as it is.

living in a family with my dad being northern European and my mom being southern European i can safely say that the are darker but white. of course there going to be a little darker but they all are still white on the inside and both wouldn't be tan if they never when outside. right now im not to tan because i play basketball which is indoors so im barely outside but during the summer im out swimming all the time and become darker, its just how humans work.
PS i remember reading somewhere that all of the European people all spread out from a tribe somewhere in Germany but im not too sure

What makes you think that Greek, Italians and Spanish have dark colors? The truth is that very few people in these countries are somehow darker. They are usually people who work in the fields.
Except this, there is sunshine most of the year.
Actually all of these countries, are mixtures of different "races", if you can say so. In fact, most of the Greek "races" (Doriis, Achei, Iones) are tall, with blue eyes and blond hair. And, as far as i can tell, in Italy and in Spain, you can meet dark hair and eye people, only in the south, where the agricultural areas are.

i'm greek and my skin is really white, although i have very dark eyes and hair. personally i don't like putting labels on people, but i'd say that people from italy, greece and spain are in general darker than people in northern or central Europe, because of the climate. It is sunny here most of the year, so we never lose our tan completely.
(however greeks, italians and spanish people are categorized as white because they are fairer in colour than people of african or hispanic descent- i think it all amounts to relativity)

hm mm i am one of them and Ive always wondered how id be grouped if i were living in the US coz i dint have to group myself since i live here.
but i kind of agree with u we are not white not black and not Asian and not an in-between either. our skin is darker, our hair is thicker, our features harsher and the list goes on and on. race has nothing to do with skin colour. im white inwinter and brown in summer. do i change races over time ???
i dint think i was politically correct there but anyway. i listen to another politically correct moron around here and i puke.
we have to accept it . races do exist and it has nothing to do with us not getting along

Yes. White is for the color of their skin.
If you want to talk about white people with fairy hair and blue eyes, you are talking about Caucasians.
