I'm curious to get some information about teaching in the San Diego area, or southern California in general.

Are jobs hard to come by? What about as art or English teachers at a high school level, or teaching at an elementary level? How long were you in school for to obtain certification for teaching?

In general, what you are thoughts and opinions on teaching?

i don't think jobs are hard to come by... you want an english position?! my poor mother has been subbing for a new teacher that won't be coming over now from another district since the first day of school. google cjuhsd and look for job opportunities...

also edjoin, google that, it's education jobs for all of CA

i can't wait to be a "real" teacher... subbing is fun, but there's a ton of bull that i have to put up with every single day!

the hot information I heard is that quite some instructors in California are leaving their jobs. they are both shifting on to a quite some occupation, or a quite some state. Why? because a majority of the college districts do not favor their instructors to prepare on their personal. they ought to stick with district guidelines and guidelines, without fail. instructors are a lot less "instructors" than they are "babysitters." it really is why I moved my relations to Arizona 4 years in the past. there'll be a scarcity of instructors (if not now) by employing 2010, even as extra instructors are expected to leave.
