I think not. One of the premise involved would be instilling a desire to be human in every respect. When the robot finally arrived at the conclusion that it was a robot and could never be the one thing it supposed to be it would probably result in the equivalent of an "electronic nervous breakdown".

You are asking us to predict the future! But what the hey! I'l take a shot at it, who can prove me wrong?
No,not with current tchnology, will that technology exist as somepoint in the future? Yes, probably. But the big question is will PEOPLE actually do something like that? probably, at least on the experimental level, but will such devices become common? Thats not so certain to me.

I don't think so, and yet i think such a creature is inevitable as long as we don't destroy ourselves first.
I believe we will reach the point where we can design systems that are capable of designing better systems autonomously. When that happens, a new form of 'life' will emerge which will rapidly evolve to intelligence far exceeding our own.

no. Our body type is inefficient. an Ai would probably build something with a lot of balance and maneurabilty. Perhaps an insectoid robot.
