spay it with a solution of chlorine, about 300 parts per million should suffice, then pressure wash it with hot water, if possible, then spray on the chlorine solution again while it is still wet and allow it to dry on.

Pressure washer BUT be careful.
They can "pit" and/or deface the wood. Bleach and water is good. About 1:3 should be ample.
