Yes. If you are using anything other than windows xp sp2 you won't be able to see drives larger than 120gbs(something like that)

Of course. There is no conflict between any combination of CPU clock speed and hdd size. The issue you might have is if the Bios of your computer will accept 40Gb hdd or not. But the answer is more likely to be yes. The probability of an issue is really small.

The answer to your question is yes. Depending on the operating system and file system, your computer may not detect all 40GB of space on your disk. You get around this very easily by using a driver which is available on the hard disk manufacturer's website.

Yes in most cases, it is not dependent on the processor speed it however depends on the Operating System (OS) that the hard drive and processor are running.

Older OS may not supprt drives as large as 40GB.

the answer is yes .. if u use windows xp then u cant use drives larger than 400 gb formatted in fat 32 format for that u have to use ntfs but what u have asked for is completelt plausible

the processor speed has nothing to do with the hard drive it's really just a storage device so works with any processor fitted to motherboard.
