do company's that drug test do follow up tests or do they usually just randomly test after you get the job?

i've never had to take one before so i was just wondering why i even had to take one.... i passed it so i obviously don't do drugs!

Few companies that do drug testing when you get hired do additional random drug testing after you're hired. Certain industries and occupations may be more likely to do random drug testing - trucking, railroad engineers, pilots, etc.

If your company does do random drug testing, they probably will make that information very clear to their employees through their HR department. They'll be motivated to tell you that they do random drug testing because the best thing about random drug testing from the company's perspective is that it is a deterrent to prevent employees from doing drugs if they know that they could be tested.

So no company that does random drug testing would want to keep that information hidden from their employees. So if your company does not mention anything in the employee handbook or HR materials about random drug testing, the chances are that they don't do it.

Someone might be too poor to be able to afford the drugs, so when they test, they're clean. After they're employed, they can support their habit again. It depends on where you work though. Some places may do it randomly, and some may just do it every time you get into an accident. I.e. if you where to trip and far and had to be taken to the hospital, or if you accidentally damage company property

maybe you shouldn't do drugs.. then you wouldn't have to worry about that now would you??
