Seems to be very popular in Denmark ( article I read) . Much demand for blond, blue eyed kids in the rest of the world.
I think it is disturbing. Like if I donated my eggs or something....I would still feel "bad" for some reason. Passing on traits, and I believe some character traits are definitely passed on too and not caring.
I read not long ago a couple who did got married (Portugal) and discovered that they actually were half siblings through donations......much ado; they had kids - sane and all - good for them, they did not have a clue after all.....but....if it becomes the ultimate trend , which I don't think it will anyway,......bit scary to think of the consequences.
The idea of unknown couples having a kid half made from me just does not square. But I do nonetheless admire people who do know each other and make that ultimate gift, for no monetary purpose, just to come to help to people in distraught.

That's awesome. But you'd have to watch out for those women who wanted to hunt the sperm donor down and force them to pay child support. Or the kids eventually wanting to know who their daddy is.
I guess when you have over a thousand points you can pretty much post any type of question you want. What else you got????

There's more to having kids than them having your DNA! In order to be someone's parent, you got to be RAISING and PROVIDING for the kids!
Like Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise for instance. Technically, they are Isabella's and Connor's parents because they are the ones who doing the raising and providing, and being present in their lives. They can claim Isabella and Connor to be "their own" kids.
So, you can make lots of kids, but you can't say you're their father because you're not taking any responsibilities for them!

Dawg dats sad. How can you live knowing that you have a child out there and not want anything to do with him or her??? I'm a father to a wonderful 10 yr old son with my wifey of 12 years and it's the best feeling in the world. What happens when you find your soul mate and she finds out that you have 10 kids with 10 different women and don't know any of your kids or take care of them, do you think you'll keep your mate?? doubtful

You'd never make a living at it, but it's nice extra income. I think the average is about $50/donation, but you aren't allowed to donate more than once or twice/week.

No it is not. As much as you want to bring life into this world, how horrible would it be if you were riding next to someone on a plane and think to yourself...man, this person looks just like me...hmmmm..I wonder if they are my child? Their are certain things that should not be taken for granted. Creating another life is one of those..

Then that would be the best way to go. Yes, you can make some cash, but if you want to know how much you need to contact a local bank.

the think that i worry about in that aspect is.....
say...you donated sperm and you have children running around that you know nothing at all about
then, you get married and have kids
then your kids grow up...and one of them falls in love with some kid that looks a little bit like you........wouldn't that worry you a little???
can you imagine the conversation you have with your daughter??? "honey...your boyfriend may be your half brother...would you all mind taking blood tests?"
