Perfect solution - and it is free. It is called community theater. They are always looking for people. They will help you learn to act, plus sing, dance, do make up, lights, customes, sets and everything else. You get to enjoy everything about the theatre, both on and behind the stage. Watch your local paper and you will see regular audition notices. Usually all you have to do is show up (unless the notice says to have a prepared monologue or a picture)
My wife and I have been in theatre together for 30 years. All four of our children also, plus both our son-in-laws and my oldest boys fiancee. We did a performance of Godspell last year, and our one daughter was in it. She brought her six year old son to all the rehearsal. During the last week, our lead had to miss a rehearsal, so our grandson jumped up on the stage and did every line and movement perfectly, including the soft shoe dance number. Had the rest of the cast rolling on the floor.
Looks like we will have a third generation on the stage...
Hope to see you there soon also...

Definitely. But start simple. Before you invest lots of money on education or dump your daily job, take daily courses and become an extra or join community theatres.
I have an BA in Sociology and an MBA but people always told me that I should become a newscaster. And now, after a year as a Sky News anchorman, I decided to become the next Bond. So watch out blonde guy!
Your desire is the only thing that counts. Always follow your dreams, but not to the expense of the moment :)
Good luck

Get a talent agent. Many agencies offer classes to their clients. I didn't know that I had a talent for acting until I was in my thirties. I am now a veteran of over 7 plays and I directed one also.
Community theatre is a great jumping board for individuals to hone their skills.
There are a lot of jobs that you can get to 'help' pay the rent.
You will never know what you are capable of until you try. There are many famous people today that have stories of people telling them that they couldn't do something.
The only dreams that we should be ashamed of are those dreams that we do nothing about.
Break a leg.

As a hobby, yes. Not as a career.
The chances you won't be able to make a living at it far outweigh your chances of success.
Go learn to do something which is actually productive and do something meaningful with your life.

well it depends... even with little expeirence are you good at it? you could probably try out at a audition for some minor role and work your way up. but.... you probably don't have a huge chance, no offense but try to realize that people with good backgrounds of acting have a much better chance of being more experienced and getting the role.

All the answers I've seen give good advice. NOW is the time when you're young with LOTS of energy to do it!
All you have to do is make the decision to go for it and DO IT! Study and you're talents will show. DO IT ! ! !

Give it a try - and I mean do try with all your might, NOW and not later. Even if you do not succeed you will be content with knowing that you did try.
Just beware that once you do climb up those boards - they will mean the life to you!!!
