I have a temporary order of protection (PFA) against my husband. He attacked me in front of our children because he found out I removed his loaded gun from the house. He threatened to kill me. His hearing is on Tuesday. I am a little nervous even though I have good council. Who should I look at when I answer questions from the attorneys? Hubby's attorney has no good defense other than denial and slimy tatics like implying I have borderline personality disorder, out to punish husbnd, and a bag full of other unwarrented stuff. Any advice on how to cope with him? Any general overall advice? I appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

before you go into court, take a deep breath and feel good
You are there to answer questions directly, not tell a story. Listen to the questions cafefully, pause to think, and answer simply. When you are cross examined, done try to fance with the other attorney, dont get angry, just answer.

Good luck to you

Look at your attorney, his if necessary but avoid eye contact with him. Take your time and answer questions slowly and control any anger impulses you may feel.

How old are your children, can they be questioned by a guardian ad litem? (an attorney representing the children, not your husband or you) If you attorney hasn't suggested this ask him about it. There confirmation of what happened could be the "hole in his boat" and you can watch him sink.

Try to look at the person asking the question, difficult as that may be. It shows you are sincere.

Good luck, hope things turn around for you. And good for you for removing his loaded gun from the home where your children live.
