Which conspiracy theory do you buy. The one from our government, or the other side which says our government had a hand in 9/11. It's interesting that the head of the 9/11 victims family's group confirms that 52% of the familys believe the Government had a hand in 9/11.

I really don't know what happened on 9/11. I do know that the government lied about the Gulf of Tonkin incident which was used to rally support for Vietnam. I have read about CIA operations called "red flags" operations. These are confirmed by CIA archives as operations in which our government stages attacks in order to get the country to support military intervention.

But I still don't know if the governments conspiracy theory is wrong. What do you think, and what proof do you base your judgement on.

Not sure about the conspiracy bit but I do believe George W ignored the warning on August 6th. He did not want to interrupt his vacation.

Honesly, I believe that it was terrorists that attacked the world trade center and not any kind of direct attack by the government.
I base this partly on the independent fact that I believe after the first attack on the world trade center in the 90's Newsweek wrote an article that said something to the effect if they wanted to bring it down-they would have attacked the sides with an airplane or missile becaue it was supported by the walls.I seem to remember this- Terrorists must have read this or heard about it and planned their scheme accordingly .
In any event the knowlege was out there about the towers vulnerablity.
However, that does not mean that our governments are not involved in conspiracies.
There are plenty of people in the governments of USA,Canada,UK,and Australia who do not think Orwell's
1984 is such a bad idea.
For example, this post will be read at some time in the future by a government screener because it has covert search engine keywords "cia" "attacks"
So say hullo to the government flunky!

I will start by outlining the governments story, for those who aren't sure.

Their theory is that 19 Arabs, who had been under surveillance, conspired together, walked onto four commercial aircraft without being detected, and without having their names appear on a passenger list. Then that they could overcome over 250 people with plastic box-cutters. And not only that, but with no previous experience of flying large jets, they could navigate from 30,000 feet and
hit three out of four targets precisely, meantime conducting flying manoeuvres
that fighter pilots would find difficult. Then, the amazing thing is that 7 of them
survived the events and are known to be alive today.
Also for the first time ever in history, three, not two, but three steel framed buildings collapsed as a result of fire which could not possibly have burned hot enough to melt steel, and caused the buildings not to topple over, as one might expect, or to fall a little at a time, but to fall within their own footprint at the speed of gravity. And one of those buildings (WTC7) was not even hit by a plane.
Not only that, but the four aircraft disappeared completely without a trace of
their 16 large engines, or any of the black boxes. This has also never before
happened in history.

This theory is so amazingly full of holes that it is impossible for any sane thinking
person to believe, yet that is what the official 9/11 commission report.says.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American

public believes is false."
-- William Casey, CIA Director (from first staff meeting, 1981)

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently

opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
Arthur Schopenhauer

So, having discarded the government theory as lies, we have to look at an alternative.
There are many different theories, with variations in detail here and there, mainly because so much of the information has been hidden or destroyed, so theories have to be formed.

However, there is now a solid crowd of people, in every country, who believe that 9/11 was an inside job, and the evidence that they have amassed overwhelms the government theory.
The best explanation I have come across is at the following site

Don't you think that if the government was culpable of such an elaborate scheme as the attacks of 9/11, they would also be capable of silencing all the dissenters who are coming up with the theories? Since most of those accusations are popping up on the Internet, wouldn’t they be doing what the governments of China, Russia, Iran etc… are doing and filter what gets on the Internet, then track the origins of the attempted postings and go pay those guys a little visit and arrange some unfortunate accidents. Website like LOOSECHANGE.com wouldn’t make off the server; guys like Michael Moore wouldn’t make it out the door.
And if they were going to conspire don't you think it would have been a good idea to plant WMDs in Iraq?
Use logic instead of buying into some cheap videos on some website.

no I don't buy it and yes for the most part our government is honest without the cia and other intellegence agencies we would be in a world of trouble from the terrorist all over the world , there are some things they the cia and the government cannot make public if they did then they would be tipping all the wrong dooers off , so they have too stay pretty much closed mouth about whats going on keep the faith about your government they are doing teir best try living in iraq or afganistan and see how you like their government especiaay before mr bysh started teaching them a lesson thew wont soon forget

I think that Loose Change has some validity, but not all of it is fact. I don't know if the government was 100% involved in the planning, but I think they knew about the hard core possibility of that day and time and those planes. Reading between the lines is where the truth is and those in betweens won't become visible for a couple decades.

Remember Pearl harbor, our government knew about that, yet let it happen. I think it's very similar in this case.

I trust the U.S. government as much as I trust a mean pit bull. When that sucker gets hungry, he's gonna eat you. I also think it would be too excessive to knock down two of the largest buildings in this country just to provoke a response of some kind. Either way, it really doesn't matter much in my life and there isn't a whole lot I can do about it. I also believe I don't need to know the truth about some things.

The official version, that there was a terrorist attack involving crashing planes into building is the truth. It is backed up with empirical facts.

The conspiracy theories, those who rely on conjecture, also rely on suspending all known laws of physics and engineering. I like to think of myself as open minded, if for no other reason the opportunity to research or study a topic from another perspective. But the conspiracy theories do not provide a single credible fact that give them any credence. They cannot be taken seriously by any intelligent person.

The government is not 100% truthful but I'm not buying that conspiracy theory.
