As an adult, I agree that school is not a good learning place under the present system and it teaches you very little of value, or to directly prepare you for a career.
Why couldn't, by the time you reach high school, have career options available? Most of what they teach you in high school, you should already know by the first day of your freshman year, and I assure that most young people who are home schooled do know it at the corresponding age.

What? How can you say that.
First of all, school is way easier than dealing with real life. If you hate school, then it implies you hate doing even the smallest amount of work and will never make it anywhere in life. Think about it, the amount of effort and work people put into school is nothing compared to the amount of effort people need to get a decent-paying job.

Not me, I am long out of school, but after I graduated I realized how wonderful those years really were. But then I do enjoy learning and so took adult education classes and then started teaching adult Ed. classes.
I am assuming that you a teenager - when you get older you will know what I mean.
Enjoy these days of your youth, they will never be back again.

My son hates school and hes only in the 3rd grade. He
seems to have quite a few friends, I think our public school
systems are really failing to interest our children.

I don't hate school, just my 6th hour class. It sucks! There are some nice individuals in it, but as a class, they are the students from hell!

Well actually, I like school. Math isnt my thing, but this year it has been fun! My most fave subject is Global Studies!!
