It should be and it will be Cristobal Huet. He had an amazing season last year having 7 shutouts in 20 something games plus a 929 save percentage. Now that he is the clear # 1 goalie in Montreal, he'll have more wins, more shutouts and possibly win the Vezina trophy.

Well I think the ones that will be the best this coming season will be the ones that are already the best in the league, namely Martin Brodeur and Mikka Kiprusoff. Of the two, I think Kipper will be a little better because I like Calgary's defense (as I Ducks fan I saw a good amount of it last spring, and I got nothing but respect for it). Brodeur is finally having to handle things without the world's best defense in front of him, and while I think he's the best, I don't think that'll be enough to make up for the deficiencies that defense has now. Calgary is a team to be feared this season (though I still think the Ducks are the team to beat, with Pronger added to that team that went all the way to the Western Conference Finals last year).

Oh I totally forgot about Luongo. He's going to be great too, and in fact Vancouver has improved also (losing Bertuzzi hurts the offense, but he's such a distraction in the lockerroom that I think it more than makes up for it). But I think Calgary's got the best team (and certainly the best defense) of the three, so I think Kipper will have the best season.

Bah, j'sais pas mais j'dirais -

it depends on what each person wants to say with "best" goalie.

To me, to be the best goalie means, to be the guy who will make the big save at the big moment in the big game - and/or - to be the guy who will "steal" a game for his team when it needs it.

So: I say probably Kiprusoff. But: watch well Luongo - because now for once he's with an OK team rather than a horrible team. Maybe watch Brodeur too, because this is a goalie going from having a #1 defense in front of him to something much less.

It depends a lot on what one means by "best". As with defencemen or rookies, "best" means different things to different people. (I'm with the D but) goalie is almost the more difficult position to judge "best" than defenceman.

I say, those are the guys to watch as to who's gonna be the best goalie. It could be that it's somebody else - but that's what I think.

Either Martin Brodeur or Mikka Kiprusoff. Brodeur doesn't have Nidermayer and Stevens in front of him anymore. Kipper has Phaneuf defending him. My pick is Kipper. He's going to repeat the Vezna performance he did last year.

i like the hot regulations universal. The hockey has been plenty greater valuable this year, exceedingly the playoffs. Its the two the reality that the hot regulations are solid ones and that they are unquestionably imposing the present regulations greater. I trust bivdog if reality be told I unquestionably have continually theory that if the goalies are out of their crease then they ought to be like another participant. they are in a position to deal with the %. in the event that they pick to yet they are in a position to be bodychecked in a legal style merely like another participant. they ought to in hassle-free terms be risk-free while they're of their crease and in hassle-free terms then I agree there ought to be no touch.

Marty Turco is by far the creme de la creme...he plays the puck, he plays smart, and he's only aggressive when his defense breaks on him...he's the most solid goalie out there. even though they didn't go far in the playoffs last year, you can't blame him; his team allowed 3X more shots on goal than the Avs
Shots to goals he's the best...when he stays in his crease.
