I haven't seen a Big Mac costume. I've seen bacon and eggs ones though at http://www.holidayblogging.com/2006/09/18/bacon-and-egg-couple-costume/

You may be able to make these with some Cardboard and a little paint. The Fries I know are easy, I think it Red and Yellow if I remember correct. For Fries use some yellow Swim Noodles sticking up behind the head. Now the Big Mac may be a little harder. You could just make the Styrofoam Box with Big Mac on it. But, it would be nice if you can do the Burger. You could cut Cardboard into 12-24 inch wide strips and may have to staple lengths together to be long enough to make a round and top with cardboard with hole for head. Then a little paint and maybe some Swim Noodles again to look like meat around the Cardboard. Hope this helps, it sounds hard, but, maybe an Adult understand what I say and can help. Have Fun, regardless of what you 2 decide and be careful.
P.S. May want to have some padding for your shoulders, it not heavy, but, in time could get uncomfortable.
I checked the links Scott S above have, the Burger is Great!! If you could get it. Fries not what I expected, but, they OK.

Great inexpensive costumes for groups...try these:

Random superheroes...everybody puts together superhero costumes of their own design, like the PMS Avenger or SuperFried Chicken Man and Captain Waffle...just make up something fun and creative with whatever you can find lying around. Just add tights and a cape!

Little old ladies is kinda fun for the girls (or boys). Just go to the thrift store and find some old fashioned "church lady" dresses, orthopedic looking shoes, a grey wig, pearls and glasses. Most halloween makeup kits have instructions for "old age" makeup. You could add other funny accessories too like tan knee high's, a cane or pad their tummies so that it looks like they have really saggy boobies. This is always a hit at parties! Think the "shoebox greetings" lady.

If they insist on being something "pretty", then try greek goddesses. Have them wear a simple tank dress then get some inexpensive costume chiffon and drape and pin with safety pins. Add some gold braid and curl their hair really tight then put up in a banana clip or simple updo. Slip on some sandals, give a generous dash of glitter...and presto! Greek goddesses!

As for the burger and fries...haven't the foggiest idea. I have made all of my costumes for the last 20 years, not that I'm a great seamstress or anything. I just take what I have and add to it or get stuff from the thrift store. It's inexpensive and creative.

How about a soda and snack wrap. If you want to still do the McDonald's theme

Snack wrap
You can use cardboard and sheets to form the snack wrap and get green cellophane and shred into strips. Add yellow paper or yellow cellophane as the cheese. Wear brown hat, and clothes and be the chick part. You can fold the sheet over the large cardboard or poster board like you would a diaper or how toy would put a book cover over a book with a triangle like paper boat top part. Now the ranch would be your own creative direction.

The soda
You can use the same cardboard or poster board direction as a large circle. But you would have to put the top of the cup at your shoulder and make a lid out of a large round circle covered in wax paper as the lid. Paint the appearance of soda underneath the wax paper cover.

If you have time on your hands you could form both I mentioned as you would make a paper mache of each and find ways to attach to your body. But if you do, you should use liquid spray starch. Its wont spoils as fast as flour paste.

If y'all don't like both of those one can always dress like Ronald. Or hamburgerler. Which is just a clown suit and prison suit.

Most of the costumes regarding McDonald's I looked at looked like cardboard walking advertising types of costumes.

If yall wants to try the blue character you could make a paper mache egg shape with using a stuffed large trash bag like you would a balloon. This same method you could also do a chick as one person and paper mache egg for the other. Or 2 chicks (no pun intended) where you use the paper mache egg design cut in half with a zigzag cut top design and have yourselves dress like baby chicks still in the eggs. You can make a beck with a yellow covered baseball hat and again paper mache form face.

I am going suggest something I read somewhere on Yahoo Answers, I wish I could get credits to the member but I cannot recall where I read it...

Anyway, the idea, which I thought was really cool, is to disguise as 2 "similar" characters like SuperGirl and WonderWoman, BatGirl and CatWoman, Cinderella and Snow White, the Hilton Sisters...Add some fake blood, scratches, shredded outfits and it will look like you guys got in a fight ;-).

With some more creativity, you might come up with better characters.

I hope this helps. ;-)
