I think at this point they have ticked off so many people that they might as well give up their singing careers...

I for one will not buy one of their albums..

The reason we live in the country we do (the United States of America). The freedom to express our opinions. Even if those opinions aren't what some of the public might feel.

And, get your story straight, they have never done a general bashing of the entire country of the USA.

These women are not just puppets who are being manipulated by entertainment industry strings. They are mother, sisters, wives, friends -- meaning they're human.

If you have that much issue with them, then learn to turn the tv channel when they are on, change the radio station when they are aired, and don't read about them in the news or internet. -- Really, it IS that simple.

I do not understand why the general public hates the Dixie Chicks. They have an opinion and have the right to voice it. Maybe I don't know the entire story but I fail to see any real big problem with anything they have done other than being brutally honest. I'm pretty embarrassed to being living in this country and the best person we could find to represent us is George W Bush? Can't we do any better? I hope so.

First of all it's called freedom of speech! And I think it's great that artists talk about subjects like that, in fact they should talk more about their points of view of controversial subjects so that way more people will debate about that (wich is not a bad thing).

And hey, all they said was that they were embarassed that Bush was from Texas. Heck, I'm embarassed that George Bush is from the United States.

And as to being in a foreign country, it's not like it was a state secret or something. 90 percent of people in Germany hate George Bush -- they were just playing to the fans.

I love the Dixie Chicks!

I agree that they should just shut up and sing. I have stopped listening to their music and refuse to buy their albums. They knew that their audience is a very conservative, patriotic group and as a result they should not make comments where they open mouth and insert foot. They stepped in it and are trying to say that it was someone else who did it not them. Pass the buck works real well for liberals.

I agree. If it's any member of the entertainment world they should drop out of the industry and become politicians...otherwise JUST ENTERTAIN US for cripes sake!

p.s. Never listened to much of the Dixie Chicks. I'm just not interested in hearing a slightly overweight remake of Tanya Tucker sing.

You have controvercial opinions (at times). Why can't they? However they are in the public limelight and should realize their opinions could affect their career detrimentally, as it has. Writers have to edit. Maybe celebrities should learn when to edit (their opinions).
