then where is their son in the other movies. Why is Superman still pursuing Lois if she is engaged? And didn't Lois & Clark sleep toghether during the last movie??

Superman Returns is supposed to be taking place between SM 2 and 3. It is made as if 3 and 4 never existed. (That would be nice).
Superman left earth looking for remnants of Krypton after his battle with Zod. Lois moved on with her life. Lois and Clark only slept together during the second movie. I didn't see that Superman was pursuing Lois. I'm sure he still loved her just like she still loved him.

Apparently Superman left earth soon after the 3rd movie which would roughly coincide with the child being 5. However we dont know at what speed he traveled back to earth , as for why he is still pursuing Lois, would you let a babe like that get away?

Didn't Clark kiss Louis at the end of the fourth one and make her forget? There could have been a lot of time between the 4th movie and Superman Returns that we didn't see. That's my guess anyways...

its not a sequel !!! its superman 5!!!! if you watch superman 4 carefully you will understand everything
