People will take you for granted as long as you let them. The only way you can avoid feeling hurt is by not expecting anything from them. Be yourself and be happy knowing that you are a good friend. The moment you start to seek any kind of reward or recognition for your efforts, you will open yourself up to feeling dejected and used. Friendships are more about giving and receiving than giving and taking.

you have to be friendly, don't be grumpy to them, do a few favors...but not all the time. they're your friends so they should expect that you'll need some favors form them too! don't worry, because a good friend would never take advantage of you...but don't take advantage of your friends either!

I am always trying my best for my friends, you will be appreciated whilst you are 'doing' but don't get upset when you are disillusioned, you will be taken for granted and you won't be any better thought of.I still try and still get hurt.

Take a course on being assertive.

you cant, we all take advantage at times, but the key is to realise when you do it.... takes a while but you become quite aware of it after a while and then you learn to curb it.

try taking them for granted and when they complain, tell them" now you know how it feels"........ change your friends for the forces sake...

Easy. Be your self but don't be a heel. Know when to say no.
