Well... I'm reading it right now, and I REALLY want to finish it as soon as possible. And soooo many people have told me it's a great book, though it does contain the word "sex". It's called The Giver, and it's by Lois Lowry. She writes great books, like Number the Stars.

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card (and the rest of that series as well) is probably one of my favorite books ever.

The Giver by Lowis Lowrey (which i can't spell) is another of my favorites.

Wolf Brother by Michelle Paver is one I just randomly picked out in a bookstore recently, and it turned out to be really good. It's the first in a series, and I actually bought the second one in hardcover because I wasn't willing to wait for the paperback edition to come out in like six month.

Sabriel by Garth Nix I'm reading now, and it's not necessarily a kids book, but a lot of people I know read it like in middle school.

Twilight is a book that my then 14 year old has read at least twice, and is waiting for the next book to come out. The author is Stephenie Meyer. It is a fantasy book and came as surprise to me that my daughter devoured that book. She is most difficult to purchase for.

Uglies
Pretties
Specials

They are about kids that will get plastic surgery at age 16 so they are pretty, then no one will be picked on. All will be equal. But all the pretties will be dumb and controlled by the government. Very interesting!
