People in this country, are very ignorant and don't care about the mistakes they make. Mexicans are only people from Mexico, and Hispanics are people from Spanish-speaking countries. So no Mexican and Hispanics are not the same!! Cubans are different from Hispanics!! People need to do some research, and stop calling people by something that they are not!

The difference is probably the same as the difference between Mexicans and illegal immigrants... not much. Spitting semantic hairs gets nowhere with me. A spade is a spade no matter what the PC rat-bastards want to call it.
I waded through a big long article just to see if I could clarify my own thinking, and found this line:
"the Colombian, Mexican, Cuban American and Spaniard would all be Hispanics"
So this says a Mexican IS a Hispanic. So there. Stuff that in your pipe and smoke it. It is YOU who does not know what a Hispanic is.
Don't you EVER try to pull something like this with me again.

I am open minded and sometimes use the two interchangeably. Just trying to be respectful. Maybe like people are saying, ignorance to the difference. I can talk about Eastern Block countries. A lot of people do not know the difference, I don't hold it against them.

OK, for your info, HISPANIC really means someone from HISPANIA, the Roman name for the Iberian Peninsula, so that means ONLY people from SPAIN & PORTUGAL (plus Andorra & Gibraltar to be precise).
That's IT
BTW, "Iberia" is not latin, but GREEK., and the word Hispania itself is not actually latin, but Phoenician!

because they are ignorant.
would be very difficult to understand what is a chilango or an argie for many of them.
Or the difference between a bifteck in Bs As and a tortilla, or pupusa.
