Those who have nothing tangible left have even better things to give than those with tangible belongings to give away or share. A person with a couple hundred dollars to spare would gladly lend his friend or relative some (if he's not a cheapskate), but a poor person with little or no belongings may give love or kindness or sympathy or comfort to another (depends on who the person is inside). So even if you run out of tangible things to give away, you still have some of the greatest and most powerful elements that turn the world and power the cycle of life: Love, kindness, sympathy, empathy, compassion, comfort, and many other good emotions that humans could never exist without.

The old cliche about no pain no gain may apply. Or a change maybe in order. Generally, it is best to stop and find time to rest and relax. A certain kind of emergence gives us guidance during our times of trouble. Some call it god, or peace of mind, or just friends and family coming together that help us through our problem. I'm not claiming to have an answer. But I do have faith. And I have had some personal success with inner peace during troubling times in my life. I wish you the best.

This is an excellent question with many possible answers. For my self, I know that when I'm running on empty, I go to hope and my family. Hope enables me to be able to pull my head up and look beyond, and my family gives me the strength to have faith in the next step. Having people around you that support you is vitally important, but having hope is too. How little we think of it, yet hope is a force to be reckoned with.

If you are thinking of giving any worldly thing, it has limits. If you give love, blessings and other things of such kind, the reservoir is always full. In the road to service unto humanity, one would also see that one does not get tired. One gains energy.

You are also inspiring by "just asking."
Inside each of us, almost hidden, is a little thought. Those who are brave or honorable, visionary or beautiful of heart, think the thought and say, "I can." Others who are tired or afraid, selfish or want to answer Yahoo questions, think the thought and say, "I can't."
I want to assure you, you will always find more to give - because you will always have yourself. And see how much you gave by asking the question?

You take the time to do things for yourself, to fill yourself up, and then you'll have more to give. Nobody need be at the beck and call of others' needs 24/7. Value yourself, and then you'll know the limits to giving.
