The only illegal thing is child pornography. If you get caught viewing or saving child pornography you will get arrested and possibly get sentenced to long term jail time.
Everything else is pretty much fair game. Freedom of speech allows someone to view pretty much anything they want online, and rightfully so. Some countries like China restrict citizens from viewing many things like political sites and military sites. That is wrong.
Child Pornography is sick and should be outlawed.
Unfortunately it is available for viewing on the internet and you have to be careful what you view. If it is obviously an underage person then you don't want to get caught viewing or even worse, saving and trading those pictures.
But everything else is fair game except maybe bestiality. I am not sure about that in the UK

The law in the UK on this subject is very vague, if you view an obscene pic it is automaticcally stored on your pc, however to own hardcore porn for your own personal use is not considered illegal, however, if you view sites with porn involving children or anything what is considered over the top violence this will also be automatically saved and technically you could be prosocuted for being in possesion of this. My advice is be very careful which sites you visit, if thet even hint of these two things stay well away, if you come across anything like that you oughht to report it to the police, not only for your own protection but also for the protection of the under age kids who are being abused and exploited.

Its pretty much ok to watch anything on the web with the exception of kiddy porn sites. Web sites have to obey the laws of the state or country to which the physical server is located.
A crazy example is if we take something like a racist web site, this is illegal in the UK but ok in certain states in the US, If I wanted to build a site like this (bearing in mind I live in the UK) I would need to find a server provider based in the states.
In answer to your original question though, no its not illegal. sites like allmovies.adultbouncer.com are ok but sites like ogrish.com or rotten.com are definately not for the faint hearted.

No, it's not illegal to watch adult sites. I'm not sure about the suicide. But I would simply avoid watching things like that anyway.

It is illegal if you are under 18 or if you wish to view sites that have paedophilia, animal sex or unconcenting sex (such as rape). I think there are a few other types of adult material that are illegal too, but I am not sure what they are. Maybe bondage?
