I recently went for a make over in London and they applied my foundation with a large makeup brush, at first it looked kinda odd with lots of brush marks!! But after they applied another application and really worked in with the brush it looked fab! To finish off they brushed a neutral powder over my face with a giant powder brush :) Have used the same technique myself and find it looks great!

Firsty make sure you are wearing a good moisturiser as you need a good base before you start The best way to apply foundation is to warm it in your hand and then apply where needed, don't overdo it as less is more

A slightly damp sponge is great for liquid foundation. A brush (like Bare Escentual's kabuki brush) for powder foundation.

firstly i don't belive in using sponges as they're unhygenic and give you spots cos you cant wash them properly. so use a synthetic bristled specialist foundation brush (you can get them form asda for £3.99) and always apply foundation with downward strokes because upward strokes can open your pores, making them really noticeable. what i do is dot the foundation on my chin, nose, both cheeks and two dots on my forehead and just sweep the brush allover, its easy and gives good results

I use liquid and what I do is I squirt it out on a sponge and dot my forehead w/three dots my check area w/two and my nose with two then I dot my chine and jaw line. Then with the sponge I smoother it out over my face. Making sure I do not leave a line in the neck area.

you should start from the nose, and 'roll' it around your face. This warms it up as you are applying, which helps it mould to your face.
