If you meet someone on-line, I do think you should disclose about the "more flattering" photo of yourself. I don't think you need to change your screen name to "I'm really x years old" as a disclaimer.

It is dishonest to say that those pics are of you currently but some people don't even put pics of themselves but uses avatars and pics of things. Yes, it is all a fantasy in the sense that you are not a cartoon. You are chatting with faceless people that type back over cold lines of communication with no feelings or emotions. That's why we choose our words wisely because the person that is receiving us on the other side may very well be reading too much or too little in between the lines of what you write. I tried to find the best avatar that looked like me the most and I do have blonde hair and I do have blue eyes and I am thin so I think my avatar looks like me

I don't think any of us really expect the pictures to necessarily be a true representation. Some are, some are humorous, and yes, some a fantasy.
