Sometime in 1977 my brother gave me two tapes with the words "you can have these, they're crap" they were Rattus Norvegicus by the Stranglers IV and No more Hero's.That was it at the tender age of 13 I became a man, a punk.
They were my idols, them and anything to do with punk rock, my life changed I learnt to rebel,Question authority and write non conformist on my R.E book above a drawing of a rat running along a wall.So in answer to your question: No I prefer Bauhaus,The Sisters of Mercy, and The Killers at the moment.Things change you know.

A great band..we used to call them the 'pink floyd' of punk because they were coming at it form a different angle from their peers. Musically and lyrically they were in a different class. I remember buying the singles 'Peaches' & 'No more Heros', and taking them to school so we could learn the songs.During the 80's, when the quality of accessable chart muisc was at it's worst..they brought out some good stuff (Arual Sculpure is an 80's classic) However, since Hugh Cornwell left, they have only been a decent kareoke band..a bit like Queen without Mercury...but on the other hand..it has introduced new fans to their music

.......Yep, love them from early stuff like Dagenham Dave and 5 minutes right up to the last stuff they did. Even saw them in concert in Guildford (where they came from) with the new lead singer, Paul Roberts. I believe they have a new album out soon called Suite XVI. They were still awesome. Loads of info about them too on websites
