Neither one are living in the real world. In their fantasies, they believe that it is up to them to "right the wrongs" in the world. How and what they designate as "wrongs" seems ludicrous to the rest of us who actually function in THIS world. And they all do it for the "greater reward" whatever they decide that is....for the goth dude it would be recognition of just how radical he is...for the suicide bombers it would be recognition of just how radical they are...hmmmm....with the ultimate reward of martyrdom.
I guess that answers your question. They are all one and the same.

No. The recent shooting in Canada was a result of a single individual who had both emotional and mental problems. Islamic terrorists arise from a group of Muslims who twist the words or the Qu'ran into something its not, then send people off to do what they think its the right thing. Although both are tragic, they stem from completely different places.

the Isolamic types do it to gain a favored status in their heaven
The "goth" ones do it, for no apparent reason than not wanting to commit suicide alone, or for some real or imagined transgression in thier lives.
I don;t buy the violent video games throey, its always somethign they want to put blame on.. video games, rap, heavy metal music, Dungeons and dragons.. those are all cop outs
