Try to increase the tears flow when you are happy. The physiological system will get tuned to tears more during joy, and resist when anger occurs ! May be it may take a little time and practice !

There is nothing wrong with being emotional. It is so much better to cry than to start breaking things or hitting that person. You just get so emotional that you cry and it's normal. I do that too every so often but I believe it's healthy to let it out that way than the alternative. The next time you feel the need to confront someone, take about 10 minutes to cool down. Go outside and just breathe in the fresh air and don't think about being upset. Walk around a bit and think about the situation and how you're going to face it. Hopefully after that much time, you should have already calmed down enough to approach the person in a calm and decent way or maybe you're calmed down enough to not approach that person at all. Either way, let that person know that what they did really upset you and maybe you both can come to an understanding. Don't let things bother you so much. When you're starting to feel frustrated, walk away and cool off. Then come back and work it out.

Anger is a strong, powerful emotion, with tremendous energy, and it needs an outlet. Crying is one, yelling is another...some people throw things! You need to find an outlet that is workable for you. If you don't like crying, look for another way to release it. I clean when I'm angry, and I get A LOT done! Sometimes I'll go for a run. Its just finding a positive way of using the energy. Crying may be the most natural, and most immediate, but you do have a choice. Just remember it will come out, if not at the time, then it will pop out later where you least expect it.

I would consult a professional because you may have an undiagnosed mental illness like bipolar disorder - especially if your explosive tempers are followed by crying episodes.
