well, let's do the math, shall we......5 is not an even number, therefore it is impossbile to have an even number of men and women. They did however have to have an even number of men and women in the show to be fair. It also may come down to how many people wanted to do the show and whom the producers thought would be right for the show. Also, they couldn't have just 4 people on each team one team could be eliminated in no time and having 6 on each team would make 24 people playing and the game would go on too long. It doesn't really matter for long those cause the teams will become 2 in a few weeks like what happened last season.
Anyway, I assume you mean, to say that it is unfair, you think women are weaker then men. Yes, that is true some of the time but not in every case. Every competition is different and requires a different set of skills to win and it isn't always strength. The last competition used thinking skills when completing the puzzle and women may be better at that then men. Also, the competition isn't only about winning competitions, it's about being able to outplay, outwit and outlast every other person.

It was just randomization. Each team needed five people, so they were going to be off. It wouldn't have been fair overall to put 3 men and 2 women, then the men overwhelm the women 12 to 8. The same holds true in reverse. This game started off 10 men and 10 women.

To make the whole show fair (10 men, 10 women) In the Amazon show, one tribe was all men & one was all women. That was NOT the show where one tribe lost all the competitions before the merge. Another show started Old Men, Young Men, Old Women, Young Women. The older tribes did much better getting their camps set up. It is "fairer" than those shows, but not absolutely equal. The competition depended on puzzle solving (including getting your boat put together right) not only strength.
