I think that Starlight or Star something is in the song title or the lyrics, or maybe the group's/artist's name is Star something. It is being played quite regularly on my local radio station.

MUSE - 'STARLIGHT'?
PARIS - 'STARS ARE BLIND' (as in Paris Hilton :o)
or maybe Starsailor?

Try checking out the website for your local station as hey sometimes have a play list on there that could mention it.

Other try searching google for a aprt of the lyrics you can remember plus the word "lyrics" helped me out a lot this!

The guitar part in Dani California by the Red Hot Chili Peppers sounds similar to the guitar part in Mary Jane's Last Dance by Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers.

Freaky thing is.......I'm listening to starlight by Muse right now. I can see why you would think it sounds like Ultravox.
