This sounds like urban legend to me. It would take a heck of a lot of hydrogen to explode a toilet in this manner, and intestinal gases just don't have that much. Also, any flame would just flare up briefly. With an open toilet, you couldn't get up enough pressure to pop the pot!

hahahahahahahahaha!!!!

oh that's good!

no, mores the pity! might make pooping more exciting though:)

look; while there is enough methane gas in your intestines, it isn't compressed enough to combust in the toilet. that's why you can light farts, but not blow up the toilet. its the gas-to-air ratio that determines combustion. thank god...

but hey! feel free to experiment!

No, The Show Myth Busters attempted it and had not success. Things usally only blow up...or mecanically come from together when they are under pressure the explosion is an effect of pressure building up and finally overcoming the forces of the container. Toilets have a big opening and do not allow for the pressure to build up.

i think that you would have to toss the cigarette in the toilet, as you were pooping.
However, i would not suggest testing this, if there are tennants on the floor above you.

Hey, be careful. The C.I.A. just now got some kind of law passed where they can put you in prison without a trial if you are merely suspected of being a terrorist.

no. but if you throw a cherry bomb into one then flush it, then it will blow up in the pipes and have water shooting out of all the toilets in the school! ;)

I don't know, but I hope it turns up true. I'll try later, and report back.
