I got good grades, but never was an over-achiever.
over-achievers are in a environment of competiveness, which could be unhealthy for relationships

Hi! I can very much relate my school experience to you. The priorities of students in the lower levels is of course not getting the best grades. But make sure you remember your long-term goals, and good grades will always help you get to wherever you need to go. If you can be a straight-A student and remember that life is still about having a good time and enjoying yourself, that is a great lesson to learn early in life. Work hard and party hard, and enjoy the company of others. Also, be self-motivated about what you're doing and it will always be more rewarding. (Answer- like to have fun)

I worked my tail off in high school, got fantastic grades, and didn't have a social life at ALL. Then my senior year came around and I realized I'd made a mistake. That year I decided to have fun. I got a B in AP calculus, yeah, but I actually went out with friends. It was worth it. But I can relate to you where you don't like to be "low-level" classes. It's annoying because people are more motivated to annoy the teacher than to learn.
I can't say the hard work didn't pay off though. I'm at a great college studying what I love and I have plenty of time for social activities. Working hard in high school taught me how to set goals for myself and how to study, so I didn't have a hard time making the transition to college life.
There's definitely a line you have to walk. Too studious and you won't enjoy school at all, but too flippant and you'll close a lot of doors for yourself.
So I'd say, keep your focus on your grades, but don't be obnoxious about it and don't let all your friends be overachievers, otherwise you just end up in silent competition with them. And save time to go out and have fun.
;)

I just try on assignments/tests/exams.. anything that isn't being marked (random homework) I won't do.. I enjoy slacking off but I do get good grades in certain subjects.
