It would seem they can't even hold a blaster with such small arms, and they don't look extremely mobile either.. How were they able to build a criminal empire without doing some dirty work?

Hutts are such good gangsters due to the fact they have an enormous amount of credits (Star Wars Currency). They can pay off all the seedy and criminal types in the galaxy no to mention the ability to afford the best of everything from weapons to people (bounty hunters, assassins, etc.).

The Hutts are good gangsters because they make a lot of crimes all throughout the galaxy.They have plenty of money and they hire the deadliest assasins and bounty hunters to hunt down and kill whoever Jabba or any other Hutt wants.

The Hutts are obviously like the Mafia...family-based. They live a very long time, and therefore have plenty of time to amass great wealth, and pass it down to descendants. The problem is, Jabba seemed a little too easy to kill (i.e., being strangled by teenytiny little Leia). I would have assumed killing a Hutt would be nearly impossible, which would make much more sense.

Those movies make absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Jabba is a criminal mastermind of a large mob syndicate, but Boba Fett, the deadliest bounty hunter in the galaxy, easily falls into the Sarlaac Pitt. Whaaaaat?

Like in the real world, an effective gangster is someone willing to do the evil deeds and be smart enough to not get caught.
They are too strong willed to be dominated by Jedi, that is bloody impressive.
As far as too easy to kill, Jabba was old and he was killed by a Jedi's sister. Who knows what untapped crazy force powers she used to enhance her strength?
