the main thing to consider really is whether this is having a negative effect on your work jeoprodising your job. if it is then it is in your best interests to calmly and politely as possible inform them that sometimes they can be slightly annoying.
If not i would advise leaving it. There's no point creating tension over annoyance. attempt to let it wash over you =)

Yes you should have a sensible conversation with him about it, but tactfully so that you don't make him feel bad. i.e. i know your not going to like this, but i feel .....i hope you don't mind me voicing this as i don't want bad feelings about this between us....
