I was traveling in Arkansas on a foggy morning and I ran over a dog{may the dog rest in peace}I broke the plastic sheild that covers the engine, how important is the engine cover, and should I replace it

if your talking about the thing on the bottom it's not important

Yes, the engine cover may be important, you should totally get it fixed. Also, if the weather in Arkansas can be blamed for the death of that dog (RIP) maybe you should get a European car, which is designed for low visibility and high quality, instead of an american car, which is designed for priciness and the abilty to crumple up in a car accident. Just a thought...

Depends on where that sheild is located. If it's the fan shroud you need to replace it. It's important to the cooling system of the vehicle.
