I'd like to get a detailed opinion about filmmaking. What are the pluses and the minuses to be in that business? What quality is important?

Yes, there are. Some of them will be instructors in film school. Since you've dropped everything to become a film maker, you must have a lot of passion for the art. Now you need to gain knowledge and experience, whilst sustaining your passion. You can do it!!!
