Fox News exists because for years Americans were fed a daily diet of left of center news by the three major networks (NBC, CBS, ABC). The reporting was very similar. There was rarely a challenge to the liberal Democratic party line. We didn't realize how blatantly biased they were until the early 1990's when Rush Limbaugh hit the radio waves. He offered another point of view and commented on stories that were glossed-over or completely avoided by the mainstream media. Rupert Murdoch and (I think) Roger Ailes formed Fox News with the understanding that a market exists for right of center commentary in America. I believe Fox News gives a good balance to the others MSNBC, CNN, and the other big three. Its ratings continue to grow. The others continue to drop. Americans are not stupid people. If they thought they were being "lied" to, then Fox News would vanish. The Brokaw/Jennings/Rather types just didn't know what hit them when Fox News came on the scene.
Today, we have a new set of watchmen watching the watchmen - it's called the blogosphere. It is a continuation of what Limbaugh and Fox News began. I personally watch little TV news nowadays. I get my news from news magazines and internet sites. There are major newspapers and other worldwide media that publish in English. Read and learn. The TV news just can't compare.

The only alternatives to FOX News is network after network of liberal lies. The Left hates FOX News because FOX has broken the decades-old liberal stranglehold on every one of the major news outlets. Now that the obvious liberal bias of the other networks has been layed bare for all Americans to see, the liberals are squeeling like little pigs. Finally, the American people have access to the one thing that liberals have always kept from them....the Truth!

Conservative agenda, Bush & GOP supporter, lies, bias, one-sided...
Shall I continue?
By the way, all the other stations are NOT Liberal. ABC, CBS, and NBC can't count, since they only have 1/2 hour of news per night, and are NOT news networks.
MSNBC has 4 Conservative-led shows, which leaves CNN, which is not Liberal, but instead a Democrat's only choice for news.

Dropping the question of bias for a second, it is usually second-rate compared to its rivals. During Katrina, for instance, CNN ate its lunch until the political bias came back.
Unfortunately, many are so used to liberal bias on CNN and MSNBC, and they don't seem biased to those who watch. Those same viewers pick up on Fox's conservative bias bigtime tho (just like conservatives break out into a rash when we are forced to watch CNN or MSNBC).

It's the Bush admiistration's answer to Al Jazeera. They really shouldn't be using news in their name as it's more of a right wing support group.

They're cool, I love their morning segments where they just sound off. They're funny.
Btw every state has a different station so not everyone has the same newscasters.
