Both are great options!
I recommend that you connect with the coaches of each team, before tryouts start. Let them both know that you're having a bit of a dilemma, and ask them for their input.
One or the other might know that the competition is stronger with one team or the other...Or, one of them might tell you that they really need you.
Also, then they'll both know that you're interested in both...And perhaps if you don't get on that team this year, they'll be looking for you next year.

I think I'd go with the dance team.I have always liked cheerleading (even though my mother said it was for girls only and wouldn't let me go to the try-outs) and I'm a supporter of cheerleading as a sport in our local school. But I LOVE dance. After I moved out on my own,I enrolled in a dance class at a local studio.Dance is very demanding, and those who are in dance are not sissies.I went from Tae Kwon Do into Dance. The first month kicked my butt.I had muscles hurt that I didn't even know were there. Now my two daughters(4 & 3)are excited about DANCE.

Go to cheerleading tryouts. If you don't make them, go to the dance team tryouts. If you wait for the dance team and you don't make it, you could end up not on a team this year.

Here's the one up, you said that you liked both so which ever is more convenient for you, you should do it. Like, for example if you want to hang out with your friends more, you should try which ever one comes first because it will give you more time for your studies and your fans.....he he.... So, since cheering has dance steps in it, I would personally choose cheering. But which ever one seems to be the most enjoyable and it could possibly help you build up a career for your future. To make the big bucks as a pro! They are both a good choice, ask some of the girls who are on both to see what they have to say about it and why you should join them!

you should be on the cheerleading team, for you have more experience at cheerleading, and the fact that cheerleading does involve using some dance techniques and so forth.

If you can try out for both, do. If you can't go for what you love and if it doesnt work out try cheerleading next year, but don't give up if you really like it.
