If I take a+ within the next two weeks will I have to take the new exam(2006) or can I still take the old exam (2003)? Will CompTia offer both the old and new exams together for a little while or will they just switch to the new? Thank you!

Is the new exam better or cheaper than the old one?

I talked to a CompTia affiliate that the new exams arent sposed to be in full effect until the first of the year. I took my test two weeks ago and it was the 2003 one. My test had a boat load of Win 95 and NT stuff. Hardware was okay but that was always my favorite.

They will offer the 2003 test until Dec 31st 2006, but you can take the 2006 one if you want. I have already passed the OS test, so I need to pass the 2003 Hardware test before the end of the year to get certified. The 2006 version won't work.

Hi, I would wait and take the new exam. Unless you have lots of money to waste.

if you take the old one, before the new one is released.. then you dont have to take the new one, unless you retake it. but once the new one is released. they wont give old one anymore
