You can get an ear infection at any age, believe it or not adults are just as prone to them as children. Sign of possible ear infection include, pain, discharge from ear, possible odour, itching. If your husband thinks he may have an ear infection make an appointment with his GP, they can take a swab of his ear and send it onto a microbiology lab for testing for infection. It could also be possible that the pain has nothing to do with his ear he may have a problem somewhere else, because the upper respiratory tract is all connect a problem with for example your sinuses could affect your ears and vice versa.
If your husband does test positive for infection a course of antibiotic should sort out his problem. Hope this helps

When we what? An ear infection can be caused by a lot of things, not just one!
The best thing for him to do is go to an ear doctor and have it looked at, don't let it go and let it get worst.
