What's the best college in NYC? Is NYU one of them?

Best college in NY according to US News rankings is Columbia. Then it's Cornell, and then NYU.
However, I think Cornell is the best out of the 3 because it is good at so many subjects. It's the science school in the Ivies. It's in Ithaca.
NYU has amazing business and film majors. It's in NYC.
And I just don't like Columbia at all. NYC also.
Then on the liberal arts side, there is Barnard in NYC, which is a really good school.

New York City has NYU and Columbia as their major learning institutions. However, I went to Long Island University out in Brookville, Long Island and lived in New York City. The commute was long, but the school is very prestigious and very beautiful. Coming from Los Angeles, this was quite a switch for me...but I loved it. I got my MBA from there, and if you are getting your Masters, the commute is worth it. However, if you are getting your bachelors, stay near New York. I actually heard Baruch and Queens College are both not that bad if you are trying to keep lower budget.

If you are only discussing the five boroughs of NYC, then Columbia University is the "best." It is one of the elite Ivy League schools. Other Ivies include Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth, Brown, and UPenn (of which none are in NY).

Yale is in New Haven Conn.
Rutger is in NJ
Best schools in NY are Cornell and Columbia

Yale is on the top. I know Yale is in NY, but I'm not sure if its in NYC
Rutgers and NYU are two other very good ones.
