My sister and I threw our dad a 60th Birthday party five years ago.

We asked my Mom and she suggested an early 60's theme.

We hired a band to dress and play like the Beatles (early sixties, clean cut Beatles, not the psychedelic dudes at the end of the sixties) and we did an American Bandstand early 60's theme. All the guys dressed like JFK, Dick Clark, Frankie Avalon and the women dressed like Jackie Kennedy, Sandra Dee, and Annette Funicello.
It was fun. My Dad had a blast.

Make it a fancy dress theme, wear the clothes that were fashionable in the 1940's. Find out what happened on the day he was born and have big pictures to depict that. Like who was President, Which team won the super bowl etc...

OVER THE HILL lol j/k dont. I dont know, just throw a barbieQ and invite people over, music and all that, he is not a lil kid, he doesnt need a "theme" for his party. You also can get caterers who will make a little bar for the people there, I am doing that for my 13th b-day (except removing the achoal). Anywayz hope this helps. HAVE FUN AT THE PARTY!!! LOL! Good luck. Peace out. Bye. Luv/Kodi

Think of the movie Big Fish. Most dads, like mine, have a lifetime full of tall tales they've told us. I would ask friends and families some of the stories and share them at the party, along with photos, momentos, etc. Make that the theme.........it'll be a suprise when he finds out what you've got planned.

Throw him a 60s themed party. It goes with his turning 60, plus that's probably the music he listened to growing up and the fashion and all that.

this may well be kinda contrite, yet why not a Nineteen Forties, Fifties, and Nineteen Sixties subject for anyone? Or some thing like that, the guy who's 60 grew to become into born interior the forties, the guy who's 50 grew to become into born interior the 50s, the guy who's 40 grew to become into born interior the 60s, kinda extraordinary, huh?

What does he do in his spare time? if you can think of a hobbie(Ex Fishing, Biking, Boats) Then stick with that. For example my cousin just had a big party and he loves the water. so they threw him an "Under the Sea" themed party.

I like the sounds of a "Dad, This is Your Life" ... How about getting pictures of your dad from his entire life and making a collage of them, or a slide show? Invite people from various stages of his life to tell stories (sort of like a roast) about him. Wish your dad a Happy Birthday for me. Turning 60 is a milestone! God bless! May he have many, many more birthdays.
