If it is time for an oil change go to Wal Mart. They will check all the fluids and ask them to check the tires. Make sure the wiper blades are good. Make sure you have a cell phone with you just in case and extra cash for any emergencies that might occur. I just traveled over one thousand miles by myself and am disabled. You will be fine.

"The kit is designed to give you the tools you need to handle roadside emergencies so that you won't have to wait hours for roadside assistance or rely on the random kindness of strangers," Treganowon said. "It should be kept in your trunk at all times."

The kit contains everything from a simple flashlight and batteries to a fluorescent safety vest. Many of the items can be found lying around your house.

Start with an old duffel bag or a diaper bag and add the following items:

* Small throw rug
* Work gloves
* Two bread rappers and four rubber bands
* A large standard screwdriver
* A pair of pliers
* A spray can of penetrating oil
* A set of battery jumper cables
* A wheel chock
* Emergency flares
* A large flashlight and extra batteries
* A rubber hammer
* A folding shovel or a short-handed shovel
* A roll of mechanic's wire
* A four-way tire wrench
* A funnel
* An old shower curtain for ground covering if you have to crawl under the car
* An old scarf for emergency hose repairs and an old belt
* A bag of cat box filler or rock salt
* A cigarette lighter
* A plastic jug of water
* A basic first-aid pack
* A fluorescent safety vest to wear if you have to repair a car on the side of the road
* Dried fruit, nuts or other nonperishable food in case you ever get stranded, along with a blanket to ward off cold weather

Sounds to me like you are doing everything right. You should only change the oil about every 3000k miles. Get a tune up if you do a lot of driving through the months. As long as you take good care of your car, it will run like new and last for a while.

300 miles? You shouldn't have to do anything special. As long as you have kept up on the fluid changes.

Just be sure to have a flashlight, a good spare tire and lug wrench/jack to change a flat if needed, extra food, water, 1st aid kit in the car.

Cars are meant to be driven.

Just check the oil level and set the tire pressure. Make sure you have other fluids like transmission and washer. 300 miles isnt that far...

You should either look yourself or have a mechanic look at your water pump and have the belts on the car looked at. Problems will pop up sometimes and to lessen the possibility just keep a regular up keep list to check the miles against the services.

300 miles is not a long distance. Just check your oil and water, washer liquid and wiper blades and tyre pressure of course.
It takes about five minutes and if you're not sure about it get it done while you wait at a garage.
No big deal, they will probably only charge you if they add oil.

Is that suppose to be 3000 miles?
Check tires, tire pressure, coolant condition, coolant level, brake fluid level (should be ok if you just put pads on), oil level, AAA card and you are all set.
