Bush claims we are spreading freedom and democracy in Iraq? Why not Cuba??
Opps, I almost forgot, Cuba has no oil, and many allied nations including Russia and China!!

What Bush does not know is that you cannot spread democracy to other countries, the people of the country are the only ones that can bring democracy just like we did.

read your history books. little thing call "bay of pigs" oh yea, that was when the democrats were in charge, but yes we have tried year after year for a long time. Like the CIA hiring the mafia to kill castro. It is also why there is a trade embargo with cuba, and we have no offical embassy there. ect.

You must have missed the Condalisa Rice's radio speech that was aired in Cuba that stated those that would fight for Democracy would find a friend in the USA.

Scott, democracy sucks. Thank god we are not a democracy. We are a constitutional republic(or at least we used to be)
Democracy = 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what to eat for dinner.
We should'nt worry about Cuba or the middle east, we should worry about America.

Haha! This is my issue with all of it: You cannot FORCE a type of government onto a nation, especially a nation that is used to having a vastly different type. It takes time to build a government--democratic or otherwise--and not every type of society can handle democracy (or what have you). If it is important to the Iraqi citizens that they have democracy, it will come in time...not with our semi-encouragement-semi-force.

We already tried it, we came w/in a hairs breadth of WW3 in the Cuban missile crisis. Interestingly something never published in America is that we put missiles in Turkey and w/in instant striking distance of the Soviets (when we already had them in Germany) before they retaliated by putting their own in Cuba.

Because the Democrate JFK screwed up the Bay of Pigs and a Democraticaly controled congress passed a law forbiding direct military action in Cuba. You really should read something...
