Severus Snape is very evil. He used to be on Voldemort's side but then changed to Dumbledore's side. But later, he joined the Dark Side...again!

Although i HATE Snape for killing Dumbledore(bcos he was my favourite character!) i think that he is GOOD! FOR SOOOOO MANY REASONS!!
k firstly i think that snape isn't evil because...
1. In the 6th book hagrid heard Snape and Dumbledore arguing about something. Snape was saying that he wouldnt and couldnt do what Dumbledore asked! My theory is that Dumbledore knew what would happen(something to do with the Unbreakable curse that snape made) and told Snape that he would have to kill him but Snape didnt want to!
2. If u read the chp. where Snape kills Dumbledore u'll see that it says that Snape looked at Dumbledore with rage. Wgat if it was rage at what Dumbledore was asking him to do??
3. I think that the reason that Dumbledore trusted snape was because Snape may have been in love with Lily Potter.(that may also have been one of the reason that Snape hated James so much!)
I think that it was actually Dumbledore disgiused by polyjuice potion in the chapter "Spinners End". if you look at that chp u'll see that Snape isnt really acting himself! he's being too polite!!

I THINK I HAVE A FEELING HE IS GOING TO BE GOOD...
the reasons being:-
firstly, from the very start...though snape has been portrayed as a black character,he has shown splashes of goodwill..like the first time he tried to save harry from prof quirrell.i think he was good initially(i mean before he joined voldemort) but he just had a craving for powersince..as you can see from james behaviour to him...he was something of a nobody!
secondly, though he has a grudge towards harry,he has always shown a tolerable respect towards dumbledore and dd's implicit trust on him also proves that he was not bad...(and dd has never been known in making a wrong assessment!)
thirdly, the final stage of the murder...
i think dd's pleading was not for life but for death...he ASKED snape to do his task, however unpleasant it may be
again, snape while running away said..."i'm NOT a coward!"
that is very significant since it was decidedly cowardly to let the death eaters in when dd was absent...then why did snape defend himself?merely b'coz it was a task v. had given him..?or b'coz dd has forced him to enter into tasks much difficult for him to bear?????
i think...a hunch that is that s. will turn out to be...if not "good" certainly not "black"!

I think he must be double agent, order to kill Dumbledore to save Draco and himself. It is likely Dumbledore want Draco to be safe even to his grave, probably in start of Harry's year and already know about it. he want to let Harry know more Voldemort to know weaknesses and what's he is up against and prepared him what will expected to happen in future. He can't leave Harry in dark about secrets he has holding in the past, if he have to save Draco and Snape, so he told everything about Voldemort to Harry as possible before it is too late.
Snape is part of it, probably Dumbledore wants him to eye Draco that Dumbledore pass his role of horcruxes hunter to Harry, (he found the ring and already destroy it) changed plans that he wants Snape to co-operate to have next stage planned out after he died. Hagrid spill the secrets out as he thought death stage are meant to be fake, but it's real.
The question you ask is a good one. I have to say he is a middleman, that he did kill a person which is a sin but to kill by force with reasons. Time will reveal his colours if he want or don't want to redeem himself. If he chose to redeem, he is a good guy with a price he has to pay.

Unfortunately, I think he's good:
1. Dumbledore trusted him
2. He has been suspected too many times by Harry, which always turned out to be incorrect
3. He only killed Dumbledore when Dumbledore demanded it.
I don't like him at all--he's a creep, and whether he's good or evil isn't a nice guy. But I think JK's enjoying that part. Having a "good" guy that we just love to hate.

i think he is evil in killing dumbledore, but i also think he and dumbledore had a pact or something....i think snape is good or actiing on his own intrests (which is a trait of slytherine) but i really do think he is good. harry has a strong hate for him as do we all, but i think on snape's point of view he had no choice. sry for my long explaination, i am an obssessed harry potter fan

not sure!! i don't like him personally, but that doesn't mean he's not for the Order. here's the dilemma; if he is able to be double agent FOR dumbledore, who's to say he's not able to be triple agent FOR Voldemort???!!!
we'll never know til book 7 comes out. i'm kinda annoyed cuz that horcrux idea was pretty good, and now she has to stuff it all into just one more book! drats.. harry coulda taken his TIME when looking for the horcruxes.. now it's all gonna be squished. !!! >P
