Never. I use to work in a restaurant. That is bad. When you walk out on a tab guess who has to pay, your waitress.

Only once, when I was in college. There used to be this bar in Mexico City (where I'm from) where you would get beer by the yard. A couple of my best friends and me went there and got totally and completely plastered and racked up a decent beer bill. We were so drunk that we decided that running for it without paying might be a good idea ...and we actually almost pulled it through. We discretely got out and as soon as we got out of the bar we started running like crazy to head for the car. What we didn't count on, being as stupidly drunk as we were, was, of course, that we were three REALLY DRUNK guys trying to run to escape. We started getting the serious giggles thinking of what we were doing, and even though, I don't know how we did run fast enough to actually make it hard for one of the bar's employees for several blocks. He did catch up to us when we were laughing so much that we simply couldn't keep on running and we had to stop to laugh our intestines out. It was then when he caught up to us and made us pay the bill in the middle of the street ...I wouldn't do it again, but I am certainly glad I did, it was indeed a lot of fun and a very good memory of me being an idiotic college kid vandal :-)

No, I've wanted to more than once, but never
walked out.
I have complained and gotten meals comped.
The worst most over priced dinner we have ever had was at the Swan Hotel at Disney World in Orlando. Dinner was fully comped and the hotel room also. They were remodeling the floor we were on and the carpeting glue made 2 of us sick.
They had several cards in the room saying "LET US KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING WE CAN DO FOR YOU OR IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED'. So I did.

I have never walked out on a dinner tab, but I did get such poor service and food once, that I asked to speak to the manager to complain. When he came to the table, I described my problems in detail, and strongly suggested he not expect payment. He complied, and the dinner, such as it was, was free.

No never on a restaurant bill. But accidently on a bar tab. I returned the next day and paid it. That is stealing. Who wants something like that following them around for the rest of their life?

No way! If you drank or ate it, it is your responsibilty to pay for it. If you get poor service, lower your tip or complain to the manager. Walking out on a tab is stealing.

You usually cant walk out on a bar tap... they take your credit card and hold it till you pay the tap. I live in a small town so if you plan on eating at the resturant again, you dont walk out without paying.
