I never tried Doctor Brown's but I do love the drop-ins! It made all the difference in the world in our situation! My son was a lot less gassy. I had already been through one child who had colic, so I didn't want to have to deal with another fussy baby, and these really seemed to help!

They didn't make them like this when my children were using a bottle--wish they had! I used the Playtex liners though--easier to deal with, no worry about having to wash a bottle--just wash the nipples & rings, give the holder a quick swish & done! I didn't have problems with gas with my kids--but the Playtex nipples were more like the breast & lots easier for them to adjust to when I stopped nursing.

I used the drop ins and I thought they worked great. After I stopped breastfeeding, I went for those because they have a nipple shaped more like the breast than any other nipple around. That was the only kind my daughter would take other than my breast. As for the gas, I don't really know if it helped because I didn't use any other kind.

I liked them. They work well because you can push the air out of the bottle. I only used them for about 4 months, then switched to a regular bottle. Neither one of my kids had gas problems. So that depends on your child I guess. Good Luck with baby!

with my first i used them from 3 months to 15 months. i loved them. much easier for on the go or traveling (did a lot). i didn't have any problems at all with him having gas. so i would say yes it did help.
idea if you use them or even if not.
in diaper bag if you are out for the day or long road trip, keep some bottles with drop-ins filled with water, then keep baby formula in snack size baggies, pre-measured. you don't have to carry a can anymore. same for ones with out the drop-ins. but carry extra formula in baggies, and extra drop-ins in a zip lock bag and you will always have a bottle to go. just carry water.

I didn't like them. Dr. Brown's bottles are the best. They have tubes in them and they really cut down on the gas. My son had really bad gas and Acid Reflux and he did great with the Dr. Brown's.

I thought they weren't worth the trouble. My baby didn't have gas so I don't know about that part.
