Because taking responsibility for our problems makes us own who we are. And that can be really uncomfortable, for some impossible. It is easier to place blame. It puffs up our ego and justifies that we are great and they are bad. People are much more comfortable being victims than self aware.

People these days do not know how to accept the fact that they will be wrong sometimes, they won't always know what they're doing, and they'll make mistakes.
They're so quick to point the finger to someone else because they don't want to look stupid or take blame for their own actions and behavior.

Because those people thinks they are right all of the time. Those that do dont want to admit they screwed up. They just forget that to err is human.

If everyone followed the motto: think before you act and take responsibility for your actions.... they'd find that they wouldn't nearly have so many problems and they wouldn't be so messed up.

because blaming it on yourself would mean admission of imperfection and that doesn't seem to be the way of the world these days

it's because it's easier to cope with when they have someone else to blame it on since they can't stand being wrong. (nobody likes being wrong)

Not very many people can omit to things that they cause to themselves. They don't want to see how stupid or naive there choices were/are.

Because they are irresponsible, low self-esteem and don't have a clue to functional behavior.
