I think a classic look is a navy blue blazer (think Brooks Brothers) with a crisp button down and jeans. A tweed sportscoat also looks very nice.

Navy blazers are the classic blazer every guy should own. An alternative to that being a khaki(chino) blazer. as far as seasons go, being that its fall, you'll find corduroy blazers in store as well as tweed. it all depends on what your pricepoint is and if your looking for something year-round or seasonal.

I found that wearing light blue or cream colored blazer goes very well and it's very appealing to the ladies too.

a corduroy blazer/jacket will go with prettymuch anything- as long as the color isn't really bright.
