VersaMail, and any other e-mail client (my favorite is SnapperMail at http://www.snappermail.com ) picks up the e-mail from your account without filtering spam. The filtering process should be done on your account.

You should check with your provider and see what filtering system it has. Some filtering system, such as gmail, and Yahoo! Mail takes a bit of time to train, as it learns by your actions which mail is legitimate, and which is SPAM. Any filtering system may never be 100% accurate, but some do a better job than others.

So it is not up to yoru e-mail client (i.e. VersaMail). It is up to your e-mail provider to filter out SPAM.

VersaMail isn't to blame. You need to get a system that automaticaly holds the spam back for you, like GMail. GMail doesn't download messages marked as spam into any email client, including VersaMail.
