So the rich could get richer, and so that Republicans could stay in power. When you analyze any action, ask yourself: Who benefits?
We already learned from the Reagan administration that a rising tide does NOT lift all boats and that trickle-down voodoo economics doesn't work. Yet Congress passed these tax cuts. I ask again: Who benefits?

While I'm not a Bush fan, lowering taxes does make sense. If tax relief is wide spread and not targeting the more affluent only, that is.
Lower taxes are a stimulus to the economy. Lower taxes promote growth by promoting spending. Lower taxes make the cost of labor go down and promote the creation of jobs. They reduce the benefits of moving jobs overseas.
Of course Bush just wanted to be re-elected. That is the case for all politicians. Their primary purpose is re-election and since they can not be held accountable for their actions, they will buy votes any way they can with no regard for long term damage they might do.
The fact that sometimes they do good is collateral.

The rich got the cuts, not the poor!
David Stockman and Ronald Reagan proved that "Trickle Down" does not work, and idiot Bush has proved it twice again, yet he wants to make tax cuts for the rich permanent!
Americans will buy anything as most lack a brain that is able to do any research of their own! They have an attention span as long as a sound bite!

Pres. Bush heard this joke and wanted to change things from Billy B-Jobs admin:
"Dear God
A little boy wanted $100 badly and prayed for two weeks but nothing happened.
Then he decided to write God a letter requesting the $100. When the postal authorities received the letter addressed to God, USA, they decided to send it to President Clinton.
The President was so impressed, touched, and amused that he instructed his secretary to send the little boy a $5.00 bill.
President Clinton thought this would appear to be a lot of money to a little boy.
The little boy was delighted with the $5.00 and sat down to write a thank you note to God, which read:
Dear God,
Thank you very much for sending the money, however, I noticed that for some reason you had to send it through Washington D.C. and, as usual, those crooks deducted $95.00."

It made a lot of sense. Lowering the taxes raised the revenues and brings down the deficit faster. Its documented. Look it up.

This is what mainstream Republicans would like to know. He pandered to hard-up middle classes whose standard of living was falling, promised lower taxes and gave them pennies (which higher state taxes took back) and gave the big tax breaks to his rich cronies.

So he could make the deficit worse yet. Those guys are trying their hardest to destroy the economy you know. Otherwise how are they going to set up their New World Order cashless society with the micro-chip mark of the beast?

John Kennedy and Reagan did the same thing and it worked. The idea is that more $ in our hands means more money being spent, which in turn puts more people to work. It makes perfect sense to anyone familiar with macro economics.

Gee, since the tax cuts, the economy has boomed at a record pace. Government revenues have increased, as they have every time taxes have been cut. Maybe you should study a bit.

As you said, he craved re-election. He needed to do something to appease a pissed-off country, and did the only thing he could think of...unfortunately, it wasn't the best idea.
Now, if he could invent a reliable, fully-electric car, we would be in business!
