It's a paraphrase of Gertrude Stein's "a rose is a rose is a rose."

So, whoever said the 'life' line was echoing her.

It looks like life is used as a noun each time. Webster give like 20 different meanings to the word.

something to do with a mother and child..i'm guessin.
maybe it has to do with abortion, stating that though it may not be outside "another life" or person, it's a life, nevertheless. AND if that IS what this means, then it sound pro-life to me. against abortion, that is.
hope this makes sense.
