Seamonkey is a made-up commercial name applied to brine shrimp. They definitely don't live in fresh water. If you go to the Great Salt Lake, a glass of water taken from the lake will have an awful lot of baby brine shrimp in it. The lake is too salty for fish to survive, so the brine shrimp have the whole place to themselves, except for all the ducks. I know what the ducks are eating because there's only one thing on the menu. The brine shrimp eat phytoplankton, tiny plants that are like dust in the water.

No. And adding fresh water to the tank once they have been hatched can kill them. If they die, you can let the entire tank evaporate -- add new water (there would be salt in that would be residue), and any eggs that have been laid will hatch to start a new batch.

No, they live in briney (saltwater, very salty water) sea monkeys are nothing more than brine shrimp. go to you local fish store and check out the live brine shrimp and see what water they are in.

Yes. They only stay healthy if you use bottled water or water that has been boiled, then cooled. They prefer cool water to warm.
